between working part time at urban outfitters, racking up massive amounts of debt on those things that always seem like necessities (but these louboutins were on sale...), calling mom and dad for a cash advance (again), sporadically surfing the web for a real job, drinking four to seven nights out of the week and the occasional one night stand and/or the occasional drunken chat roulette session, it's rather clear that your schedule is pretty jam packed with important things to do and places to be.

well, part-time-working, binge-drinking important person, you're one lucky son of a bitch because, currently, there's a way for you to accrue your very own personal assistant. it's siri, the mobile app that can assist you with day-to-day tasks like locating restaurants, checking the weather, making dinner reservations and purchasing concert tickets for you. and, all you have to do is ask. the app recognizes and responds to voice commands, and manages to do so fairly accurately. so, not to worry if you're totally sloshed, it might still be able to make out what you're verbalizing, and you'll still be able to get your 4:27 am burrito.

while back in their day, they may have had to walk miles to school, had plan their friday nights way in advance (due to the uninvention of texting at the time) and had only been able to watch all of three stations on television.

things may be easier now. especially stalking. i mean, could you imagine trying to run into that hunk/babe at a party/at the mall/on the way to class/at their cousin's newborn's baptism without the aid of facebook, twitter and blogs? purely heinous.

i'm sure i don't need to explain why, but i refuse to call this product by the moniker that no doubt mister steve jobs signed off on himself. 

however, despite a name that conjures up thoughts of feminine hygiene products, the tablet completely and utterly shits all over the kindle. not only does it offer way more than just reading capabilities, but it offers apps, internet browsing, the itunes store, movie viewing capabilities, an amazingly designed email client and photo album storing and viewing.

at first i was a bit of skeptic, but after watching the first unofficial ad, i'm pretty much jonesing to get an apple tablet in my hands. starting at about five hundred bones, the tablet offers everything the iphone has to offer, and then some. what's most exciting is the room for growth and innovation in the apps that are developed for this device. essentially, it's over six and a half times the size of an iphone, which is going to allow for insanely visually appealing and interactive apps.

some techies are groaning about the apple tablet missing a camera function and the ability to switch out the battery, but i believe for what it is and what it costs, missing out on those two features is a small price to pay.

rumor has it the tablet goes on sale in march.

have you ever wished you could just keep a miniature rachel zoe in your pocket, so at a moment's notice, you could just whip her out and see if the new pumps you got really are in fact bananas? no need to check, alas, there is not an app for that. 

however, there is a website. while all the people at fashism don't exactly have the same clout as the notorious miss zoe, they will offer up (almost) completely unbiased opinions. the concept is really quite simple, you take a photo or two, upload it to the site, ask a simple question (ranging from "would you be caught dead in this?" to "does this make my ass look insanely huge?" or, if you don't want to slit your wrists, "what would you add to this?" or "do you like this dress?") and receive feedback from totally random strangers.

of course, there are always going to be haters, so don't be surprised if you get a little bit of negativity. however, for the most part, users are genuine, kind and helpful.

so, what are you waiting for? start playing dress up and snapping pics, then see if you're in or you're out.

with facebook's servers leaving a carbon footprint almost akin to that of new york city, being tech savvy isn't always as green as we'd like to think.

however, pretty-boy adrian grenier and producer peter glatzer have teamed up to launch SHFT, website that caters to the technorati who are also concerned about the globe. in their words, they describe the new site as "curating the culture of today's environment," or showcasing the best in eco-friendly innovation.

when you were ten there was chatting with people who probably weren't anywhere near the age they said they were via aol's instant messenger. when you were sixteen there was downloading music the badass way (a.k.a. illegally) via applications like limewire. circa your sophomore year of college, there was facebook stalking the guy you met at that party three weeks ago. 

circa now, the latest internet time suck to make it's debut on the scene is shmotter.

shmotter allows rachel zoe's in training to sift through hundreds of purses, shoes, tops, dresses, jewelry and bottoms from a wide selection of retailers to create their own unique looks. upon playing stylist, you can either purchase your outfit or open it up for rating.

these are all things that can be addicting. proceed with caution... there's one more thing that you can add to that ever expanding list. the seemingly innocent website that will soon officially make you the least productive employee within a five mile radius? oh, it's just little ol' redux. 

sort of like twitter and facebook, it's all about sharing. except, you won't need to hear about tamara's rash or jacqueline's weird eating habits, you'll only be provided with the best in entertainment and news on the web. instead of focusing on what's trending on twitter or what everyone and their mother is watching on youtube, they only provide you with stellar pre-made channels and then let you determine your content based on who's in your network. you choose who has a kickass sense of humor, follow them, and wait for them (a.k.a. refresh the page 110 times each day, thus distracting you from work...but making you look busy) to drop the latest gem they found on youtube or hilarious blog post about khloe kardashian's yeti lineage. or, otherwise known as the crack cocaine of online entertainment.

let's face it. the job market is getting about as much action as jon gosselin. while, it may be some, it's definitely not quality. and as we found out yesterday, it's only about to get worse for him.
